Por lo que entiendo es una cuestión del componente o librería que estás
usando. No tiene documentación el componente? En general te debería decir
cuales son los valores válidos que puede devolver. Si None es uno de ellos,
te tiene que explicar cuales son las circunstancias en las cuales puede
pasar y en general como manejarlo. Si None no es uno de ellos entonces a lo
mejor es un bug del componente.

Por lo que veo a lo mejor en Android? Fijate si esto te ayuda:
